Cinema at the Museum: Practical Magic

This October, Cinema at the Museum presents a series of films that will haunt, shock, and amaze the viewer. From classic to contemporary, this series surveys a selection of horror films that reach into the many depths, crevasses, and hidden terrors of the genre.

Sally and Gillian Owens, born into a magical family, have mostly avoided witchcraft themselves. But when Gillian’s vicious boyfriend, Jimmy Angelov, dies unexpectedly, the Owens sisters give themselves a crash course in hard magic. With policeman Gary Hallet growing suspicious, the girls struggle to resurrect Angelov – and unwittingly inject his corpse with an evil spirit that threatens to end their family line.

Film tickets are $10 at the front desk; free admission for members and youth under 18. Seating is first come, first served. Talks, tours and other events are admission by donation or free with membership.
