"Slothcore Jen" is inviting local cosplayers and geeks to come hang out and get to know each other! It's a casual event to get to meet other cosplayers in our community, outside the chaos of a convention.
The social will take place on Saturday September 6. Rain date: Sunday September 7. Jen will be arriving at 2:00 pm, and will stay until 5:00. Feel free to arrive early or stay late at your leisure though. Our meet-up location will be the small picnic area south of the middle beach parking lot - there's a slide, some picnic benches, and easy access to parking and the beach.
This is mainly a cosplay event so we encourage you to wear your costumes! However, you are welcome to come out of cosplay and just enjoy the day with us. Generally people are free to do as they wish at the event, whether that is socializing, checking out the animal farm, playgrounds, and beach, or taking photos.
Some additional guidance: please leave your weapons at home. Props are allowed, but anything resembling a real weapon could lead to trouble, especially considering we will be in a public space.
And don't forget to wear sunscreen and keep hydrated!
