First Day Hikes 2026

Kick off the New Year with a First Day Hike at Gorges State Park! First Day Hikes are a great way to get the whole family outside in celebration of the new year. Afterwards, cozy up by the fireplace at the Visitor Center and enjoy hot beverages provided by FOG.

10am: Hike to Upper Bearwallow Falls Overlook
- This moderate hike showcases Bearwallow Falls. Meet at the Upper Bearwallow Picnic Shelter. This hike will last 30 minutes from 10-10:30am.

2pm: Hike to Raymond Fisher Pond
- This moderate hike will explore Raymond Fisher Pond. Meet at the Rainbow Falls Trailhead. This hike will last 1 hour from 2-3pm.

Please bring appropriate shoes and plenty of water. Join us at the Visitor Center afterwards to warm up by the fireplace with complementary warm beverages provided by FOG.
