Workshop Series #4: Live Event Day

Are you ready for the ultimate live event experience?

Join us for the grand finale of the Stanford Sound and Stage Workshop Series! This isn't just a class, it's a real live event that is taking place at Suavecito Headquarters in Santa Ana, CA. You'll get hands-on experience running sound for a live band and a DJ, plus enjoy some vendors and a food truck.

You'll learn what it takes to manage a pro stage, from mixing the Front of House (FOH) and monitor mixes, to tackling the logistical "ins and outs" of a real-world gig. We'll show you how to keep the music going no matter what, and get it sounding great from start to finish.

This workshop is open to beginners of all ages, and we especially encourage participants from our previous workshops to join and practice all the skills they've learned this year!

• Mixing for a Live Band: Get hands-on experience mixing Front of House (FOH) for a real band.
• Monitor Mixes: Discover how to create and manage monitor mixes so performers can hear themselves clearly.
• PA System Optimization: Master strategic speaker placement, subwoofer integration, and the use of crossovers for a professional sound.
• On-the-Fly Troubleshooting: Learn quick fixes for common problems like feedback, signal loss, and distorted audio.
• Audio Processing Essentials: Apply key concepts like EQ, Limiting, and Effects on a digital mixer to shape your sound.
• DJ Setups & Integrations: Understand how to seamlessly integrate a DJ's equipment into a live PA system.

These free workshops are designed to empower our local community. We are placing an emphasis on registering teens of high school age within Santa Ana as well as local Santa Ana residents of all ages.

Santa Ana residents must have a Santa Ana city address and can reserve their spot by RSVPing on this page.

Stanford Sound and Stage, launched in 2023, has deep roots in the local music scene, extending back to the mid-2000s and 2010s. Our YouTube channel, Kilson Street, established in 2013, showcased our commitment to collaborating with local artists, promoting their music through video and live recordings, and producing community events.

Building on this foundation, we founded Stanford Sound and Stage to broaden our reach and offer professional live sound, stage, and lighting services to a wider audience. While our business has grown, we remain dedicated to our Santa Ana community.

We actively support local initiatives, partnering with community driven events such as the the Downtown Saturday Art Walk, Tardeada at Libromobile, and the Annual DTSA Tamal Festival. Additionally, we have committed ourselves to providing free classes at Suavecito Headquarters, educating aspiring sound engineers and DJs about the industry and career opportunities.
