Back in the Pocket: An Evening with Bryan Forbes

Bryan’s musical journey began in 4th grade when he picked up a trumpet to audition for the school band. That spark led to nine years of dedication, which included a spot in the high school marching band and three years as first chair. But after graduation, Bryan put his trumpet down for 42 years, until his wife, Priscila, encouraged him to give it another go. Not long after, he was back in action, performing for friends and family in their backyard, tackling complex pieces from his favorite trumpeters. Now, under the mentorship of jazz musician Simon Drew, Bryan is refining his craft and exploring the world of improvisation, eager to see where this exciting new chapter will take him.
