The Cape Cod Genealogical Society and the Friends of the Sandwich Town Archives (FOSTA) are excited to present a six-part genealogy workshop, Genealogy 101, scheduled for Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
October 18 - Overview of Genealogical Methods (Bonus: Visit to Sandwich Town Archives)
October 25 - Immigration and Migration
November 8 - The Census
November 22 - Land and Probate Records
December 6 - DNA for Genealogists
December 13 - Case Studies: Breaking Thru “Brick Walls”
This workshop is ideal for beginners and those with some genealogy experience who would like a refresher. Participants will explore a range of essential topics, including vital records, census research, city directories, emigration and immigration records, genealogical software, and using the internet for research. The workshop will feature both informative presentations and interactive, hands-on activities.
Please ensure you are available for all six sessions before registering. Registering for the first session enrolls you in all six sessions. A waitlist will be available once the course reaches capacity.
