miaw (DK/NL) is a cross-pop duo performing a UK bass-inspired deconstructed club music that makes your thoughts drift towards Sega Bodega, Body Meat, and james K, while blending into the field of shoegaze and ‘90s trip-hop.
Consisting of Frederik Bruun and Liza Dries from Denmark and the Netherlands, the two producers use fast breakbeats, arpeggiated synthesizers, and unorthodox sampling techniques to create a sound at the intersection of a remix and a pop song.
Their debut EP, ‘My Petswan’, released on Danish underground label Petrola 80 (Astrid Sonne, Lyra Valenza), has received multiple airplays on international radio stations such as P6 (DK), BBC6 (UK), and 1Live (DE), along with a list of reviews and mentions from GAFFA (DK), Soundvenue (DK), Undertoner (DK), Bands of Tomorrow (DK), BPM New York (US), and HighClouds (UK). Their most recent ‘My Petswan Remixed’ EP include reworks from artists like Carolina Miragaia, and j. ludvig iii.
They have played festivals such as ESNS, MIL Lisbon, O Salgado Fest, by:larm, and Spot, as well as toured across Europe with Lyra Valenza, 100%WET, and Jack J.
