From 13 to 16 November 2025, the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo hosted the second edition of the Sanremo Art Festival. This landmark venue—renowned for the Italian Song Festival—was transformed from a stage symbolic of popular culture into a vibrant hub for contemporary art and international creativity. During the festival, the upper floors of the theatre were redesigned as an enchanting contemporary art museum, open to the public free of charge.
This year's festival was distinguished by an immersive exhibition design that combined visual impact with conceptual depth, showcasing works by contemporary artists from Italy and around the world. 436 Italian artists exhibited alongside 19 Chinese artists - Chen Jianping, Chen Shuozhi, Gao Mingze, Huang Lingyun, Li Chengxi, Li Hua, Li Xiaodan, Li Yujie, Teng Lingqun, Tong Heshuo, Wang Lingtao, Wei Lixuan, Xing Ketong, Xu Haixia, Yang Yaping, Yao Xuewen, Ye Peiji, Yu Lihua, and Zhang Yan - together with creators from other countries, presenting a rich multicultural dialogue between artistic languages and creative visions.
Among them, Gao Mingze, Li Hua, Li Yujie, Teng Lingqun, Wang Lingtao, Wei Lixuan, Xing Ketong, Yao Xuewen, and Ye Peiji received the Art Market Award (Premio Arte Mercato).
A special section of the exhibition was dedicated to the “Masters of the Twentieth Century”, honoring the figures who significantly shaped the history of modern art. Works by Mario Schifano, Tano Festa, Franco Angeli, Renato Guttuso, Remo Brindisi, Mario Sironi, Marco Lodola, Ugo Nespolo, Giuseppe Migneco, Ernesto Treccani, and Andy Warhol were on display. Through the interplay of “memory” and “innovation,” this section highlighted the continuity and renewal of an artistic language capable of transcending time.
The Sanremo Art Festival offered a multidisciplinary exhibition pathway, encompassing painting, sculpture, photography, video art, and the latest digital art experiments. Through thematic exhibitions, immersive installations, and cultural dialogue programs, the festival provided the public with a comprehensive experience exploring the many dimensions of contemporary art.
