Tomás Rivera Literature Fair

Established to honor works that authentically depict the Mexican American experience, the Tomás Rivera Award recognizes outstanding literature for children and young adults. The award is named in honor of Dr. Tomás Rivera — educator, poet, and civil rights leader.

This 30th Anniversary celebration honors three decades of powerful storytelling, cultural representation, and literary excellence.

This family-friendly event honors powerful stories that reflect the Mexican American experience and inspire readers of all ages.

Join us for the parade at 9AM and afterward, join us at the library at 10AM for the opening ceremony, author talks, book signings, panels, hands-on activities, book giveaways, a book walk, food, and much, much more!
