Red Cross - Disaster Action Team Training Pt 1

The American Red Cross invites you to participate in our upcoming Disaster Action Team (DAT) Academy, a two-day training event designed to prepare volunteers to respond to home fires and other local disasters. DAT volunteers are trained to respond quickly to support affected individuals and families in their community. This comprehensive training academy will provide all the information needed to become a DAT responder. Participants will learn about:  Providing compassion and comfort to impacted clients  The roles and procedures of the Disaster Action Team  How to conduct damage assessments on affected residences  How to open client cases and provide immediate financial assistance Location: San Marcos, TX Dates: Part 1 - Saturday, September 20, 11:00am-4:00pm Part 2 - Sunday, September 21, 11:00am-4:00pm Participants are encouraged to attend both days. If you cannot attend both, you can register for just Part 1. If you cannot attend these dates, please complete the registration form to let us know you are interested in future training. Registered participants will receive additional information on completing a Red Cross volunteer application.
