Charting a Safer Course for Streets, Roads & Paths in SLO County
This year’s forum, the 2025 SLO Safe Streets Forum, will take place on the evening of September 25th at the Ludwick Community Center in San Luis Obispo. The theme — “The Last Call: Charting a Safer Course for Streets, Roads & Paths in SLO County” — reflects a renewed commitment to tackling impaired driving and unsafe travel behaviors in both rural and urban contexts, while also prioritizing bike and pedestrian safety through education, engineering, and collaboration.

The forum will feature a community panel and resource fair with participation from CHP, Caltrans, Public Health, 805 Tix, campus representatives, Safe Ride providers, and more. Attendees will hear first-hand from experts and local leaders on strategies to reduce impaired driving, improve safe mobility for bicyclists and pedestrians, and build a stronger culture of transportation safety countywide.

*Collaborative Strategies: How law enforcement, event planners, the wine industry, and Safe Ride programs work together to promote safer transportation
