On Sunday, August 31st, Silicon Valley Pride will hold its annual Pride event in downtown San Jose.
And once again, the Reconciling United Methodist Churches of Silicon Valley will demonstrate our message of radical hospitality and love for all God’s creation by standing along side our LGBTQ+ siblings in Christ.
You are invited and encouraged to show your love and support by walking with us! - the Silicon Valley Reconciling Churches (Church Coming Out).
The only thing you need to bring is a comfortable pair of walking shoes, some sunscreen and a love-filled spirit.
Please arrive ~9:30-10am and find us by asking Parade Staff for directions to the United Methodist Church contingent or by looking for the large inflatable Jesus.
The parade begins at 10:30am near Julian and Market Street and ends a short half-mile away at Plaza de César Chávez Park, where we'll also have a booth for the festival. Won't you join us?!!
Prior to the parade, we'll have an interfaith worship service from 9:00-9:30 which will be held at St. James Park - corner of E. St. James and N. First Street. The 30-minute service will include representatives from the Jewish, Islamic, Catholic, and other Protestant denominations that affirm and extend God’s love for His LGBTQ+ children.
Join us in this important reconciling ministry that not only “Opens Hearts, Minds, and Doors, but also our Arms.”
Let us reach out as a community in faith and transformation.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and show personal and congregational support for our LGBTQ+ siblings. If you are unable to join in the parade, you also have an opportunity to support this important ministry by visiting or volunteering to help at the festival booth.
If you have questions or can help at the booth, please send us a DM.
