Hailing from Havana, Cuba, Jorge Luis Pacheco is a virtuoso pianist, singer, composer, percussionist and arranger. His music has been described as a confluence of Afro-Cuban and American jazz and classical music, with a measure of contemporary pop and soul. A winner of the Montreux Jazz Piano Solo Competition, Pacheco has performed all over the world at prominent jazz clubs, theaters, and festivals, including the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and the Apollo Theater in New York City. He has shared stages with a wide array of renowned musicians, including Chucho Valdés, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Lenny White, Dave Weckl, Wynton Marsalis, Stanley Clarke, Arturo O’Farrill and others. In 2021, Pacheco released his latest project, The Lockdown Album, on which he searched for new ways to expand his horizons as a pianist and composer. As classical music has played an important role throughout his career, he brought both worlds together, integrating compositions from Chopin and Beethoven with traditional and modern jazz and elements drawn from his Cuban roots.
