UNIDENTIFIED BODIES IN LIGHT AND SHADOW
Welcome to a captivating evening at Jettison Creative with our September Artist-in-Residence, Sanaz Safanasab.
In Unidentified Bodies in Light and Shadow, fragmented forms emerge and dissolve, caught between presence and erasure. Through weaving, drawing, and mixed-media techniques, this series explores the liminal spaces of identity, place, and memory. Figures—abstracted, obscured, or reconstructed—exist in tension with their environments, navigating the fluid boundaries between visibility and anonymity. Interwoven with feminist and cultural narratives, these works challenge fixed notions of selfhood, transforming fiber and shadow into a language of resistance and resilience.
