How do literary contests work? Join experienced judges who explain the process of submitting to, being nominated for, and being chosen as a finalist/award winner for a variety of awards, including the National Book Critics Circle awards, the National Book Awards, Pulitzer Prize, PEN/Faulkner Award in Fiction, and Aspen Words Literary Prize. With National Book Critics Circle board members Jane Ciabattari and Iris Jamahl Dunkle; former NBCC board member Oscar Villalon, who also has been a Pulitzer and National Book Award judge; and May-Lee Chai, long-time chair of the NBCC autobiography awards panel. Doors at 6:30pm. FREE, $10-15 suggested donation supports Litquake and NBCC
