Queer & Well: Recharge & Unplug at Big Basin Redwoods State Park

Join the SF LGBT Center for a restorative and educational Queer & Well outdoor adventure. In partnership with the Save the Redwoods League, we invite you to discover how Big Basin Redwoods State Park is rebounding from the impacts of the CZU Complex Fire that swept through this iconic California redwood haven in 2020. You will gain insight into the reimagining efforts of State Parks, Save the Redwoods League, and other key partners as they work together to re-envision a new Big Basin.

Location: Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Boulder Creek, CA. Our group will meet at the SF LGBT Center at 9:00am and return by 5pm. Transportation is provided.

Hike distance: 3 miles

Difficulty level: Moderate; non-flat terrain

Accessibility: The guided 3-mile hike is not wheelchair accessible, is a moderate hike on non-flat terrain and will last approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

Queer & Well is a free Community Programs offering that provides a communal space for LGBTQ+ folks to explore different forms of care rooted in connection to community. Whether it’s nourishing ourselves, each other, or communities we are a part of—connection is key. Every month, Queer & Well hosts events where folks can participate in and learn about various care practices such as yoga, expressive arts, crystal healing, nature experiences, and more. Queer & Well experiences are filled with vibrant conversation, restorative practices, and community connection.

The League has connected generations of visitors with the beauty and serenity of the redwood forests.
