Metodo Classico!

Metodo Classico is the Italian term for sparkling wine produced by a secondary fermentaiton in the bottle, also known as the 'Champagne Method'. Born in the Abby's of eastern France, this method has inspired winemakers all over the world. In Italy, there has never been a more exciting time for quality bubbles!

Introducing an evening devoted to traditionally produced sparkling wine in Italy, as told through the eyes of 3 Italian producers. Francesca Persico of Cantina della Volta will discuss secondary fermentation in the bottle and how it has transformed the legendary Lambrusco of Emilia-Romagna. Letizia Cossignani of Cossignani L.E.Tempo will chat about the vineyard and the conditions necessary for quality grapes in her home of Le Marche. To finish, Paolo Stella of ErPaCriFe will guide us through the aging process and its importance for the expression of his wines in Piemonte. All in all, this will be an exciting and deeply informative evening for sparkling wine lovers the world over.
