Fauxnique was one of the cool kids…for about five minutes. Now the kids call her an “iconic legend.” (“old”)  What’s a queen to do when she wakes up and realizes she’s absolutely, definitely, so totally not one of the kids? Fauxnique looks in the mirror: this grande dame is damn fine. Then she looks around: women-of-a-certain-age-wondering-if-they’re-relevant are having a moment. She’s here to seize it with a triumphant return to the Oasis cabaret stage and a brand new show! Time marches on, but no one’s gonna rain on her parade.

So Relevant is an evening of theatrical glamour magic and real time real talk from a herstory-making lady drag queen and published author whom cabaret legend Justin Vivian Bond called “the Jane Goodall of drag.” Her work has been lauded as “engaging, critically serious, counter-culturally crucial,” (Michelle Tea) and “hilarious,” with an “intellectual spark” and “enough to make a girl want to revisit her Susan Sontag.” (SF Chronicle)

Join Fauxnique for stories served up with her signature blend of sardonic wit and soulful vulnerability, and songs curated with a music nerd’s ear for the deep cut. Special guests will surely slide onto the stage. Piano powerhouse and vocal virtuosa Katy Stephan werqs and serves as musical director for this hard-hitting and hilarious cabaret!
