Law, Ethics, and the Visual Arts: Book Talk & Signing

November 1 | 5 – 7PM

Join us for an evening celebrating the release of the sixth edition of "Law, Ethics, and the Visual Arts," the foundational text in art law co-authored by John Henry Merryman of Stanford Law School, Stephen K. Urice of the University of Miami School of Law, and Simon J. Frankel of the Superior Court of California and Stanford Law School. Originally published in 1979, this essential resource has guided generations of legal professionals, scholars, and art world practitioners.

Featured Speakers

Co-author Simon J. Frankel will be in conversation with Adine Varah, General Counsel at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Varah has praised the new edition as "an insightful, engaging, comprehensive, and remarkably accessible dive into the world of art law—a true treasure and wonderful resource for professors, students, professionals, and anyone curious about the field."

Event Schedule

Doors open at 5:00 PM, with the discussion beginning at 5:15 PM. The one-hour conversation will be followed by a book signing. Complimentary refreshments will be served throughout the evening.
