Chile Relleno is a tradicional dish prepared with poblano peppers that are charred, peeled and stuffed with either cheese or shrimp and vegetables.
Like most traditional meals in Mexico it’s labor intensive and there are a lot of steps to do it properly. But it is worth the effort, because the result of homemade is always much better than the restaurant.
In this class you’ll learn how to do every step, from choosing the right poblano peppers, to plating your dish and adding garnishes.
He’ll start by showing you how to make Agua Fresca (a refreshing drink made from fresh fruit) then take you through each step of the meal. When it’s ready each person will enjoy their own Chile relleno with a glass of sangria. All instruction is in English and recipes are included.
Chef Chris is native to Mexico, from the state of Morelos, and grew up in New York City, where he was trained as a chef. He returned to Mexico over ten years ago to reconnect with his roots and share his knowledge and experience with English speakers through these classes.
