The fall equinox AKA Mabon is the 2nd harvest festival on The Wheel of the Year. At this time the days and nights are equal in length, as we explore the balance of light and dark. Many people fear the dark and seek only the light. However, there are great lessons learned from the dark, the quiet mystery from where we all came. Seeds sprout in the darkness, the dark of the moon is a time for renewal, and we can deepen our inner awareness with eyes closed in our own created dark. At this ritual we will do just that. Learning to trust ourselves, each other and the darkness, we will be guided on a journey to our deeper selves and make connections with those who dwell in the unseen realms.
High Priestess Dev leads the ritual in the Neo-Wiccan way. Participants are energetically cleansed with incense, energy is grounded, centered and open to higher realms to shift from the mundane to the magickal realms. Dev will cast the circle and call in the directions/elements. Participants will pull an oracle card for a message from Spirit, then our magickal work/play begins and we journey to the darkness, the underworld for messages and connections. As we shift toward the light, energy is raised, creating a cone of power to celebrate our darkness and return to the light.
Ritual closes with “Cakes and Ale” (honey mead and a non-alcohol beverage), and a gluten free vegan treat.
