Instructor: Vonda McFarling, LDT, CALT has 36 years of teaching experience with 29 years working exclusively with students with learning differences. Multi-Sensory Math and Multi-Sensory Reading Instruction are her teaching passions.
Workshop Cost: $100 per person (includes supply fee and access to a digital folder of all training materials). Participants can purchase a printed copy of the binder for $50 on Day 1 of the workshop. Registration deadline is June 18th.
Workshop Description: This 2-day training is designed to teach multisensory math techniques to math instructors, teachers, tutors, academic language therapists and practitioners. The multisensory math strategies and techniques taught in this workshop can be seamlessly integrated with any math curriculum.
Multisensory Math stresses the mastery of concepts and computations by integrating multisensory teaching techniques into any math curriculum. The techniques taught in the workshop are designed for K-8th grades. Concrete materials are introduced before paper and pencil tasks and incorporate learning through the senses. V-A-K (Visual-seeing, Auditory-hearing, and Kinesthetic- feeling/touching) is an integral part of multisensory math training and techniques.
