Greetings friends of Zen Space, Kate here, to share a story.
When I was deep in fatigue this year, I put the studio on the market. I got to the point where I had nothing left in the tank to give to the studio. I had a few conversations with interested parties but in the none of them fully aligned.
Faced with the option of closing the doors, I have chosen wholeheartedly to stay. This place and this community means a lot to me. I carried the studio through a rent shortfall (loss) this year because I didn’t have the heart to close the doors and I still don’t.
We have stood the test of time, with January 2026 marking 10 years since we took over from Sattva Yoga Centre. We have endured where many studios have come and gone.
Its not 'Zen Space Yoga Studio' as some like to call it, It’s just Zen Space. Its a place where all sorts of good things go on, a deeply held and loved local community space for nourishing wellness activities. Its a place where people get nourished and it nourishes me!
When I put the studio on the market, the realisation was ‘it doesn’t need to be me’. Now what is clear to me, is that doesn’t need to be 'just' me! I haven't got energy to carry such a space on behalf of everyone anymore, but I will carry it with others.
So I’m here to bring new life to the space, but I can’t do it alone. I’m exploring the opportunity to create a ‘collective’ of teachers and practitioners who share the space and am calling in a solid team to help me to keep this space open to the community.
If you’d like to contribute in some way, experience being part of such a collective, if you have ideas, questions, or feel inspired, take a step forward! Write me or call me and let me know what you’re thinking 🥰.
Kate 🙂
