Sara Gallagher – Artist Bio
Sara Gallagher is a nationally collected visual artist known for her expressive, emotionally charged works that reflect a life lived with boldness, vulnerability, and vision. Originally from North Carolina, she began creating and selling her artwork at just 12 years old. Today, her portfolio includes over 500 original pieces, with collectors ranging from acclaimed actor Ethan Hawke to NFL players and private clients across the country.
Gallagher studied at the College of Design at North Carolina State University before transferring to the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York City, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2006. Her time in New York was transformative, helping her shed early shyness and embrace the confident, unfiltered style that defines her work today.
Her career has spanned vibrant creative hubs including New York, Washington D.C., Kansas City, Miami, and West Palm Beach, Florida, where she spent over a decade refining her voice and exhibiting her work. She has held 18 solo shows across the U.S., and her art has appeared in venues ranging from grassroots galleries to upscale design showrooms, including Calligaris in Boca Raton, Florida.
Gallagher’s art often bridges personal and political themes, especially during her time in Washington, D.C., where she used her work as a platform for emotional truth and commentary. Each piece reflects an internal narrative—bold, raw, and deeply human.
Now based in Pine Knoll Shores, NC, Gallagher continues to evolve her creative practice along the peaceful coast of her home state.
Recently invited to participate in Art Basel Miami, one of the world’s premier art fairs, she is poised to reach new audiences while staying grounded in the values that have shaped her path: authenticity, integrity, and emotional connection.
Though modest about self-promotion, Sara is a fierce supporter of emerging artists and actively mentors those seeking to find their voice. She believes in the transformative power of creativity—and is living proof of it.
