Introduction to Care

Thinking about a career in care but not sure where to start?

KO-NEKT’s Introduction to Care is a free 12-week pre-employment training programme designed for unemployed adults aged 18+ who want to take their first steps into a meaningful and rewarding career in health and social care.

This course combines interactive training, personal development, and real-world work experience, helping you build the skills, confidence, and knowledge employers are looking for.

• Increased confidence and workplace readiness
• Practical experience through a supported care placement
• Improved communication skills, including active listening and empathy
• Understanding of key care frameworks and legislation
• Awareness of trauma-informed and person-centred care
• First aid awareness and basic risk assessment skills
• A work-ready CV and support to progress into employment, training, or further qualifications

• Unemployed adults aged 18+
• Those interested in starting a career in health and social care

This programme is delivered in a supportive, inclusive learning environment, with experienced trainers who encourage open discussion and hands-on learning.
