UMOCA + Yardwork Presents Sam Prekop + M. Sage

A longtime pillar of Chicago’s experimental scene and frontman of the legendary The Sea and Cake, Sam Prekop has carved out a singular path in electronic music. As Pitchfork writes:

“The best thing about Sam Prekop’s solo electronic music is the way that it leaves space for the listener … Prekop gives you a handful of carefully chosen sounds and then bends, stretches, and arranges them into beguiling shapes until they sink back into nothingness. Seemingly by design, the particular “meaning” of a given track—not just in terms of genre, but the emotional content—is entirely up to you.”

Joining him is M. Sage, a Colorado/Chicago-based artist whose immersive, world-building sound has made him one of the most distinct voices in contemporary experimental music.

Tickets at the door. $10-$20 suggested donation.
