Excursion:Temple Square

Temple Square is a center of history and worship for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. Spanning five city blocks, it features historic sites, engaging exhibits, beautiful gardens, and majestic architecture focused on worshiping Jesus Christ and serving others.

On this guided tour, participants will visit the Conference Center and the Visitors Center. Completed in 2000, the 1.4-million-square-foot Conference Center was built using granite from the same deposits as the Salt Lake Temple. It includes a 21,000-seat auditorium, one of the largest of its kind, designed so every seat has a clear view of the pulpit. The Conference Center hosts the Church’s semiannual General Conference, where leaders from around the world share messages of faith and guidance.

Visitors will also learn about The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square, view exhibits on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, explore displays on Latter-day Saint history, and see original photos and artifacts related to the Salt Lake Temple. The guided tour may include access to the rooftop gardens, offering panoramic views of downtown Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Mountains.

Following the one-hour tour of Temple Square, participants are invited to dine at the City Creek Center food court. A variety of dining options are available, and participants may wish to review them in advance at https://shopcitycreekcenter.com/dining.

Info: Meet up at the Hospitality Desk at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Walk to the Conference Center on Temple Square Arrive at the Conference Center by 6:00 pm. Walk time: approximately 6 minutes.
