Shug’s is a Music & Art venue with a focus on original artists. We like to feature different artists during our OMM. The featured artist performs for 30 minutes at 9:15 and is compensated for their time and talent.
Featured Artist: MARIAH VAN KLEEF
Based out of Charlotte, NC, Mariah van Kleef and her band present a surreal blend of gritty, global, and mythic influences from near and far: dreamy, shapeshifting noir rock with elements of bossa nova, grunge, nordic influence and middle eastern groove. On lead guitar, Jason Cline. J. Scriven on percussion. Korey Dudley on upright bass. They add distinct levels of potency to van Kleef’s ‘siren-esque’ songwork, luring you deeper into hypnotic territory.
