ART EXPO

MEAN MUG will be throwing another one of our famous art expos! There will be food and drinks along with pieces from the artist to view and purchase.

Mary Ellen Bennett is a self taught artist that is currently president of The Carolina Artists in Salisbury, NC. She resides in Spencer , NC and has been creating 3-D art for about 20 years. She began creating art using the tip of hot glue gun and touching it to a crayon and using that tip as a paint brush. She now incorporates this technique using sand, paint, found materials , and almost most things that others would regard as a throw away. She now teaches others that art is a way to relax and deal with life's stresses.
Mary Ellen's art is part creativity, and part therapy. When both her husband and later her son passed away creating art was what truly helped her deal with her grief and trauma. She attends festivals and truly loves having others find joy from brightly colored textured art.
