Confluence: Willamette Valley LGBT Chorus Presents “Building Community: Kindle the Flame”
Celebrating connection, courage, and community through song.
Salem, OR — Confluence: Willamette Valley LGBT Chorus invites the community to join them for their winter concert, Kindle the Flame. The first in their 2025-2026 concert series, Building Community under the baton of new Artistic Director Jeffrey D. Witt. Kindle the Flame will be an evening filled with uplifting and heartwarming music that celebrates unity, authenticity, and the power of chosen family.
Three performances will take place on:
Friday, December 5 at 7:30 PM — Salem - First United Methodist Church – MICAH Building at 680 State St.
Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 PM — Portland - Cedar Hills UCC at 11695 SW Park Way
Sunday, December 7 at 4:30 PM — Corvallis - First Congregational UCC at 4515 SW West Hills Rd.
Kindle the Flame is more than a concert; it’s a reminder of how community can spark hope and connection even in challenging times. Through moving and personal storytelling, Confluence honors the courage of those who share their voices.
“As I begin my first season with Confluence, Kindle the Flame felt like the perfect way to begin our journey together." says Artistic Director Jeffrey D. Witt. "The music in this program celebrates connection, belonging, and the warmth of chosen family & the people who see us, support us, and help our light grow brighter. Each song reminds us that community is something we build together, one spark at a time.”
Featuring a program of new and familiar melodies, each concert will include an intermission with light refreshments and a fun raffle drawing. Audience members are also encouraged to bring empty refundable bottles and cans to donate toward the chorus’s community programs.
Tickets: Suggested price is $25 -or- pay what you can, with FREE admission for children 12 and under. No one is turned away for lack of funds. Tickets can be purchased online at confluencelgbtchorus.org/tickets, or at the door.
