Join us for a bewitching literary evening featuring seven of Salem's most captivating authors! This free event brings together an extraordinary collection of local talent spanning horror, dark fantasy, young adult fiction, and gothic romance.
FEATURED AUTHORS
Steve Van Samson - Author of "The Unpleasant Mister Snif," "Mark of the Witchwyrm," and "The Bone Eater King." A master of character diversity and avoiding cliché, Steve brings unique voices to the horror genre and is co-host of the Retro Ridoctopus podcast.
Erica Waters - Bram Stoker Award winner for "The River Has Teeth." This lifelong Southerner turned Salem resident writes dark fantasy and horror for teens and adults, with works including "Ghost Wood Song," "The Restless Dark," and "All That Consumes Us."
Lauren Carter Reilly - Salem-based curve model and writer combining storytelling with fashion, body image, art history, and real-life moments. A creative force with a theatrical background from Philadelphia and London.
Cat Scully - Queer author-illustrator of horror novel "BELOW THE GRAND HOTEL" (2025) and YA horror series "JENNIFER STRANGE." Known for intricate illustrations for major series and concept art work on Romancelvania and the Bioshock franchise.
Amber Newberry - Owner and curator of Die With Your Boots On, specializing in strange, creepy, and weird writing. From odd poetry to short-form horror to gothic romance novels, Amber's range is as eclectic as it is captivating.
Linden Walker - Salem illustrator specializing in YA and children's book illustrations. Working in both digital and traditional gouache paintings, Linden creates whimsically diverse pieces with natural forms and movement.
Dan Le Fever - Lynn native with a history degree from Salem State College. Author of "The Ashen War" and "In The Dragon's Wake," with short stories in anthologies from Fundead Publications, Eerie River Publishing, and Metaphorosis Magazine.
Laurie Moran wrangles creative people for Die With Your Boots On in Salem, MA, and can be caught having a creative moment herself from time to time. She has written and edited for FunDead Publications and Sepulcher Press. She loves exploring cemeteries, cooking and baking, and dabbling in an array of handcrafts.
