Info: LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Familiarity with the most common types of feline cardiomyopathy (HCM, RCM, UCM, DCM, ARVC)

Review of the pathophysiology of diastolic dysfunction

Understanding of medical therapies available for feline cardiomyopathy, as well as the evidence base for the efficacy of each, including medications that are described in the 2019 ACVIM Consensus on feline cardiomyopathy as well as those that are not

Info: This lecture reviews the comorbidities, anesthetic concerns, management techniques, and drug selections appropriate when anesthetizing dogs and cats with hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, insulinoma, hypoadrenocorticism, and hyperadrenocorticism. Discussion of recommendations for patients, both stable and in crisis, is included. CE Credit: 1 CEU-RACE APPROVED

Info: This CE event is designed to discuss seizures in cats and dogs paired with the recent ACVIM consensus statement on seizure management in dogs. The lecture will initially cover pathophysiology, terminology/classification, clinical features, and the diagnostic approach to seizure disorders. The article will then be used to discuss various treatment options available for controlling seizures. The session will conclude with a summary of points covered, takeaways from the literature, as well as clinical observations. The goal of the lecture will be to familiarize the audience with seizures as they present clinically, along with diagnostic and treatment options for both the general practitioner and specialist alike. CE Credit: 1CEU: RACE Approved
