About the event

Remembering Oil Spring
The Oil Spring Territory has an ancient and important history. Crude oil served many purposes for Native peoples and was highly prized. The Seneca Nation successfully fought to hold onto and protect this land, against all odds, from the late 1700s all the way into the 20th century. Please join us the evening of December 9th for a dinner and program with presentations by two distinguished scholars on various aspects of this fascinating history.
