Minnesota Original Music Festival presents the third installment of our music exchange series.
Join us outside on the patio at tremendous brewing for an afternoon of music and stories behind the music with our indigenous artists:
Bluedog (indigenous blues rock)
Darren Sipity (hip-hop)
All too often Indigenous art and music are viewed as historical artifacts rather than contemporary representations of what it means to be Native. This series seeks to build bridges and connections across communities by using the common language of art and music.
Bluedog is a family band formed in 2001 by spouses Eric and Joni Buffalohead. The band also includes the Buffalohead's daughter Alexandra, as well as bandmates Tom Suess and Greg Mans. The band has released 5 CDs of original Native blues and rock and has been nominated for and received a Native American Music Award
Darren Sipity is a Native American rapper from the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
this event is made for all ages and is open and free to the public.
