Following a 3:00-4:30pm author talk & book signing at The Story Collective, we invite any and all to join us for a nature walk at 5:00pm. Local trail enthusiast, Ann Marie Chappell, and author Rebecca Lexa will lead a guided nature walk at River Bluff Trails Park on the all-weather gravel trail. The walk is designed to be accessible to many, and will take approximately an hour.

Ann Marie Chappell is a naturalist, running coach, and endurance athlete from St. Joseph, Missouri. A lifelong competitive runner and two-time Olympic Trials qualifier, she has blended her passion for fitness with a love of the outdoors into a devotion to nature study and citizen science. Whether she’s training on local trails or pausing to examine a wildflower or insect, Ann Marie is always eager to share her discoveries. She enjoys trail running, hiking, and photography in the loess bluffs of Northwest Missouri and tending her native gardens at home. She lives in St. Joseph with her husband, two daughters, and four adopted pets.
Rebecca Lexa is a certified Oregon Master Naturalist, registered Oregon Outfitter Guide, and a writer and educator in the Pacific Northwest. She specializes in helping everyday people learn skills and tools for identifying the animals, plants, and fungi around them and gaining a deeper relationship with nature.
