Workshop contents: A 2-hour sessions examining the beginning and ending of stories. Whether flash fiction or a full length novel, the first words and the last words are so important.
What’s the best start to a story, any story? When should the writer stop writing and let the reader imagine what happens to the characters? Using sample texts the workshop will examine attention grabbing starts and memorable endings.
Preparation: Attendees should bring texts (100 words or so from their own writing or from a published work) illustrating a great start and a perfect finish.
Who should attend: Writers at any stage of their writing journey. It’s never too soon to start, never to late to learn from others.
