Two Nights! Two Different Shows! We are thrilled to have Denver's Quarkestra Orchestra back at Gnarly Bard Theater for two nights of amazing original scores, performed live to two of the most classic silent films of all time!

Phantom of the Opera (1925) ~ Featuring an original live score by Denver’s own Quarkestra Orchestra!

A forerunner of the American horror film, and one of the most lavish productions of the silent cinema, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA has inspired countless remakes and imitations. But none of its successors can rival the mesmerizing blend of romance and mystery that haunts every frame of the 1925 Lon Chaney original. Chaney gives his greatest performance as the Phantom, the vengeful composer who haunts the Opera of Paris and wears a mask to hide his hideously deformed face. His love for a young prima donna takes a sinister turn when he abducts her and carries her away to his lair in the depths of the catacombs underneath the city.

About Quarkestra:
Formed with multi-instrumentalists in the Denver area, each performance is unique. New original musical scores are tailored to play off of audience reaction, the musicians' intuition, and the action on-screen. Quarkestra makes use of traditional orchestral, electronic, and period instruments as well as live Foley sound effects to create an unforgettable soundscape.

Quarkestra will also be performing their score to the 1922 classic NOSFERATU the following evening! Get tickets to both!
