Calling all Ghouls, Goblins, & Good Pups! - We are so excited to walk together for our 2025 Howl-O-Ween Pack Walk! 🎃🦇🐾
Join us on the Constitution Ave Trail, starting from the Home Depot parking lot. This trail is wide enough to provide a good amount of space, a good amount of sniff spots for the pups, and should give us enough distance from the road yet still allows for people to see us all walking & dressed up! 🧟
WHAT IS A PACK WALK?:
A pack walk is when a group of dog handlers go for a walk together in a structured setting. All dogs are leashed and kept under control. Everyone is given ample space. A Pack Walk is a great way to exercise, properly socialize, and train your dog that is safe and fun for all! Pack walks encourage dogs to walk along together without interacting face-to-face. This structured activity avoids competition, insecurities and decreases risks that come with other kinds of socialization (ie. free for alls at dog parks).
WHO CAN ATTEND?:
This is a free event!!
This walk is for dogs of all ages and all training levels! Please be sure to give others space and know that they are also working towards helping their dog become better socialized and trained, or are simply enjoying a communal walk together with us.
VACCINATIONS‼️
Please make sure your dog is vaccinated with the legally required vaccinations as set forth by the city (DHPP & rabies). If you have a puppy, I would also recommend that you get the bordetella shot for them that would help protect against some strains of kennel cough.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
This is an excellent way for those of you with more uncertain dogs to work on building neutrality and confidence in a safe setting. BUT you should first feel confident in your ability to handle your dog. You know your dog best. So, if you feel this would be too much for them to handle then please dont hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns BEFORE the walk!
These walks are not a free for all for your dog. YOUR DOG MUST BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES!! Even if your dog does well off leash, please be respectful to other dogs and their people since not all dogs are friendly or comfortable when it comes to meeting other dogs. An off-leash dog defeats the purpose of this event.
WHAT TO BRING:
-Your dog on a secure harness, collar or other forms of humane walking equipment.
-Please bring your own poop bags and ALWAYS pick up after your dog.
-High value treats (think smelly!)
-Water for you
-Water for your dog
-Bowl for water
RULES:
ALL dogs must be leashed at all times! If you need help getting your dog settled down or have questions about leash manners— now (BEFORE the event) is the time to ask! Hosts/others will also be handling dogs, and can’t be readily available for you and yours.
Pick up after your dog. Pick up after your dog. Pick up after your dog, please.
ADDRESS: Meeting at Home Depot at the rear end of the parking lot! We will be taking the sidewalk to the trail.
TRAIL INFO: Possible tick area! 6 foot leashes as there is traffic in this area!
