First Coast Flute Choir: Honoring St. Augustine

Come hear the WORLD PREMIERE of a new commission honoring the lush history of St. Augustine (written by Nicole Chamberlain for the First Coast Flute Choir). “The Ancient City” is a three movement work aurally illustrating Ponce De Leon’s search for the Fountain of Youth, the military fortification Castillo de San Marco, and the decadence of the Golden Age’s prosperity with Henry Flagler’s stunning efforts to make St. Augustine the “new Newport”. In addition to this new jewel to the flute repertoire, we’ll perform two dance movements from “A Little Spanish…A Little Latin” by Palmer and many more!
