About this Event

Mid Shore Behavioral Health, Inc. (MSBH) presents the 14th Annual Across the Lifespan Conference: Wellness Promotion and Preventative Measures: A Proactive Approach to Fostering Open Dialogue (SUD & Suicide Prevention). This event will take place at the Miles River Yacht Club in St. Michaels on Friday, April 25th, 2025. The conference will focus on wellness promotion, substance use disorder (SUD), and suicide prevention across different age groups.

Speakers for this conference include:


  • Cara Calloway, LCSW: Caroline Public Schools:

Cara Calloway Pafile is a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker with 19 years of experience serving Caroline County residents. She specializes in child welfare, school-based behavioral health services, and multi-agency coordination to support children and families. Currently, as a Behavioral Health Services Coordinator for Caroline County Public Schools, she provides direct case consultation, training, and data-driven program oversight. Cara is a certified trainer in Youth Mental Health First Aid, ACEs, and suicide prevention, and she frequently presents on crisis intervention, self-care, and behavioral health topics.


  • Jeff Schultz: AFSP, NAMI:

Jeffrey Shultz is a dedicated advocate for suicide prevention and mental health education, volunteering with organizations such as the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP MD) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Drawing from his personal experiences and decades of leadership in youth mentorship, he serves as a speaker, trainer, and event organizer, working to raise awareness and support for those affected by mental health challenges.


  • Rebecca Redmer, Peer Support Specialist: MRSS, Eastern Shore Crisis Response:

Rebecca Redmer is a dedicated Support Specialist with Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) at the Santé Group. Since transitioning to Dorchester County, she has been instrumental in ensuring that agency partners and families have seamless access to crisis response services. With a trauma-informed approach, Rebecca meets children and families where they are, providing individualized support and stabilization during critical moments


  • Allison Baldwin, CSC-AD: Project Chesapeake:

Allison Baldwin is a dedicated professional specializing in substance use disorder and mental health treatment, with extensive experience in residential and outpatient settings. Currently serving as a Residential Program Manager at Project Chesapeake, she leads clinical teams, oversees treatment planning, and ensures a supportive environment for recovery. With certifications in addiction counseling and Mental Health First Aid, Allison employs a person-centered approach, utilizing motivational interviewing and crisis management skills to optimize client outcomes.


  • Maggie Black, Psy. D: Shore Neurocognitive:

Dr. Maggie Black is a licensed psychologist specializing in neurocognitive testing, psychotherapy, and psychoeducation, with a focus on older adults and their families. As the owner of Shore Neurocognitive & Behavioral Health, she provides dementia care education, memory screening, and behavioral health support to enhance the well-being of aging populations. With extensive experience in clinical leadership, program development, and mental health training, she is dedicated to improving care strategies for both professionals and caregivers.


This is an IN-PERSON event; doors open at 8:00 AM. Continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided. CEUs will be available upon request.
