Take this Intro to Risograph Basics workshop and get certified to use our Risograph printer during open hours!
A risograph is a digital duplicator, similar to a copy machine. The process in using it is a little like screenprinting, in that each color is printed in separate layers—creating rich and dynamic print results. You can use it to create special editions of zines, books, cards, posters, photographs, and more! This unique and beginner-friendly printing process will lend your artwork gobs of hand-made goodness and vibrant color, and open up a world of publication possibilities.
In this workshop, you will get oriented to the machine, learn how it works, how to use it, and be guided through several creative approaches to designing for it, and printing with it. Participants will create a two-color print to take home or trade with others.
In addition to this workshop, your class fee will cover one session of “Office Hours” with LK (see scheduled hours). Bring a print project of your own or come work on something new, with LK’s support. Participating in Office Hours is not necessary to become certified, but it can be very helpful in gaining confidence while using this machine!
