With many creative professionals, when good quality images are often required for social media, applications and publications, it is imperative to have the foundational photography skills and the essentials for a makeshift studio. If you find having to photograph your own artwork a daunting task, this workshop is for you.
In this 4 hour class you will learn:
How to photograph an artwork of your own! Please bring a work less than 20” in height, width or depth and a camera to photograph it. Phone cameras, DSLR and mirrorless cameras would be acceptable in this class. (Tripods are welcome but not required)
How to photograph various types of artwork and get the most out of your current photography equipment via live demo.
Lighting techniques for 2D and 3D work, including hard to photograph objects such as glass, jewelry and other works with reflective surfaces.
How to capture the most accurate color of your work, and how to choose and operate continuous lights and some tips on strobes.
After completion of the workshop, you will be provided with a list of tools to set up a home photography studio and receive recommendations on useful camera and editing apps, both budget and professional equipment.
