About this Event

Turning Inward: Nourish and Rest Retreat for Women

October 18–19, 2025 | Equinox Botanical Sanctuary, Rutland, OH
A Weekend Retreat for Women | $550 (includes meals, classes, and materials. Sliding scale and payment plans available)

As autumn deepens and nature begins her slow descent into rest, we are invited to do the sameβ€”turn inward, find stillness, and reconnect with what truly nourishes us. In Japan, there’s a beautiful word for this: Yutoriβ€”the spaciousness that arises when we intentionally slow down and savor life.

This two-day women’s retreat offers that very spaciousness.

Held on the sacred grounds of Equinox Botanical Sanctuary, you’ll be immersed in nature’s beauty during the peak of fall color. Through yoga, breathwork, herbal tea ceremonies, forest bathing, restorative practices, and shared time around the fire, we’ll create a space to soften, reflect, and rejuvenate. Slow down, create space, and experience Yutori.

What to Expect

β€’ Gentle yoga, movement, and meditation to attune with the season

β€’ Restorative yoga nests and guided yoga nidra for deep healing rest

β€’ Herbal tea ceremonies with plant meditations using local, ethically harvested herbs

β€’ Guided forest walks and sunset/sunrise rituals

β€’ A chance to blend your own herbal tea for the month ahead

β€’ Organic, nourishing meals and snacks prepared with care

β€’ Soaking in a hot tub over a forest cave, with herbal oils and flower waters

β€’ Stargazing, storytelling, poetry, and music around the fire

β€’ Plenty of unstructured time for rest, journaling, hammocking, and rewilding

β€’ On-site camping under the stars with the sounds of the forest

Together we’ll slow down, unplug from the noise of modern life, and remember what it feels like to be deeply connectedβ€”to ourselves, each other, and the natural world.

You’ll leave feeling rested, clarified, and rooted in your own vitality.

Why take a retreat?

Taking time for an intentional pause away from your regular routines allows for meaningful restoration. It creates space away from daily demands and distraction, lets your mind settle and reset, reduces stress, opens up time for introspection and self-reflection, and can allow for a deep physical rest.

Your Guides

Michelle and Lonnie are both experienced and certified Yoga and Meditation Teachers, and are deeply connected to the natural world. Michelle is a Mindful Outdoor Guide and leads Forest Bathing experiences. Lonnie is an herbalist, flower essence practitioner, and environmental educator. We are also mothers and business owners, so we understand how busy and stressful life can become. We have dedicated ourselves to guiding people into spaces of deep rest, rejuvenation, self-discovery and healing.

Location

Equinox Botanical Sanctuary is a solar powered farm and botanical sanctuary in Meigs County, in Southeastern Ohio. The land has been lovingly tended for over 50 years and is the protected home of native medicinals such as American ginseng, goldenseal and black cohosh. The retreat center has a sheltered yoga deck, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, beautiful swimming pond, waterfall and cave, and hundreds of acres of stewarded forest. The retreat center is accessed by AWD/4WD, and participants will be shuttled from the parking area at the road up the hill to the center. Sustainability and a break from technology is built into the fabric of the retreat center, with an outhouse for restroom, open air kitchen and dining facilities and no wifi.
