The Key to Parenting a Priest
Marcus and Maria Key
Parents of an ordained priest reflect on how one's vocation choice affects entire family. Regardless of where a young adult is in their vocation discernment process, being aware of how those decisions affect family members can help everyone grow closer and share in the joy!
Marcus and Maria Key are lifelong Catholics, married for 41 years, and have been members of St. Patrick Church in Carlisle since 1989 where they have been involved in many ministries. They have been blessed with four sons and one daughter, age range 23 to 36. In addition to being the parents of Fr. Kevin Key, parochial vicar at St. Joan of Arc in Hershey, they are parents to single adult children, married children and grandparents to three. Marcus is a professor of Geosciences at Dickinson College, and Maria spent most of her "working years" homeschooling their children.
