Ruston Community Theatre, with corporate partner Origin Bank, is pleased to announce auditions for the upcoming show A Christmas Carol, directed by Dee Alexander. With lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Alan Menken, this holiday classic comes alive like never before and has become a staple in the hearts of theatre-goers. The script is written by Lynn Ahrens and Mike Ockrent based on the story by Charles Dickens. Mark your calendars for the show dates on December 4-7.
Ebnezer Scrooge is a cold and heartless miser who values money more than people. He loathes Christmas and harasses anyone who would spread merriment, including his jovial nephew Fred and his meek clerk Bob Cratchit. On Christmas Eve, however, he is visited by three Spirits who show Scrooge a different perspective on what he should value, and the consequences if he doesn’t change.

Fan - Scrooge’s sister
Young Scrooge- young adult Scrooge, building his wealth
Emily- Young Scrooge’s fiancee
Mr. Fezziwig - Scrooge’s first employer
Mrs. Fezziwig - the quintessential hostess
Martha Cratchit - the Cratchit’s daughter
Mr Smythe - widower who owes Scrooge money
Grace Smythe - Mr Smythe’s daughter
Jonathan - a vagabond boy
Ensemble - skeletons, townsfolk, party guest, monks, etc
The audition dates are Saturday, October 4 at 10 AM, and Sunday, October 5 at 2 PM, at The MARC of RCT (504 E Georgia Ave.) in Ruston. Prepare a 45-60 second monologue to perform for memory, up to 32 bars of music, no cold reads. All ages welcome. Come be a part of the magic of Christmas together in A Christmas Carol, the Musical!
