Known for his bold flavours and charismatic energy, Luis will be leading an exclusive Margarita-making masterclass, sharing the secrets behind his internationally acclaimed Besos Margarita Clásica described by top chefs like Peter Gordon, Al Brown, and Michael Meredith as “the best pre-mixed Margarita out there, even better than most bar-made versions.”
Luis’ culinary journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Born in Mexico and raised in Jalisco, the birthplace of tequila, he trained in the kitchens of Venice, Milan, Boston, Dublin, Sydney, and Mexico City, before making New Zealand his home over a decade ago. He’s the former owner of Auckland’s beloved Besos Latinos Restaurant and Ceviche Bar, and now, through his new venture Agave Spirits, he’s capturing the authentic magic of Mexico in a bottle.
Besos Margarita Clásica is the result of ten years of perfection. Made with 100% blue agave tequila, zesty lime, and a touch of agave nectar, it’s earned seven international awards, including a Triple Gold Medal at the Major League Spirits Awards in Michigan.
Tara and the fabulous team at Feast will pair Luis’ Margaritas with a feast of their own: a mouth-watering menu of culinary delicious tacos, crafted to complement the vibrant flavours of Mexico.
