Record Store Day Black Friday, also known as RSD BF, is an annual event that celebrates independent record stores across the world on the busiest shopping day of the year. Hundreds of limited edition releases (7", 12", LPs, box sets, picture discs, colored vinyl) all come out on the Friday after Thanksgiving in limited quantities and are only available at independent record shops like Piranha Records.
The idea is to draw attention away from big box retailers and to focus on the mom and pop record shops instead. Not to mention it gives artists and bands a chance to put some really cool and hyper limited releases in the hands of their fans.
