Men of Mt. Bethel:
Tony Sims, our Modern Worship Leader, will share his story at our next Recharge Breakfast, and you're going to want to hear it!
Tony joined our staff in April after serving at Mt. Paran Church of God in Atlanta, where he held the roles of Worship Leader, Creative Director, and Executive Producer. In addition to leading Wednesday night services, he produced and led Media projects, internal and external communications, their Resource Center, merchandise creation and inventory, the website, app, and social media.
By the time he was five years old, he had found his calling in the grooves of an Elvis Presley record. (If you've ever worshiped with him, you'll understand the influence Elvis had on his stage presence.) 🎸By age six, he was armed with his first guitar and an upright piano where he discovered the mystique of boogie-woogie. By his early teens, Tony had formed a performing band consisting of school and churchmates. At that time, he began writing his own material.
Tony started playing professionally at 16 and spent the next dozen years honing his craft and developing his own sound. During that time, he opened for many regional and national acts, developed a strong Twin Cities-based following, co-wrote with well-known, nationally recognized songwriters, was a hired hand for recording sessions, and produced countless demos as well as four of his own CDs. Tony is a triple threat in that he has a distinctive look/charisma, is a talented singer/multi-instrumentalist, and a seasoned songwriter/producer.
