The Roswell Elks Lodge #969 cordially invites the community to attend our local Hoop Shoot Contest on Saturday, October 25th at 3:00 pm. Children ages 8 - 13 are encouraged to compete. Parents or guardians must bring birth certificates for the children to participate in this event.
Hoop Shoot is a free throw contest, the shooter who makes the most free throws out of 25 will be coined the winner. RHS is located at 500 W. Hobbs St. in Roswell, NM Enter through the parking lot on Lea St. and come through the gym doors.
The program emphasizes character-building and sportsmanship, with participants advancing through local, state, and national competitions to reach the national finals.
Hate Has No Home in the Hoop Shoot
You don’t have to be the fastest, biggest, or strongest athlete on the court to sink one free throw after another. Practice and precision are the name of the game. When you step up to the free throw line, it should be a level playing field.
The Elks National Foundation and the entire Hoop Shoot team nationwide are committed to making contests fully inclusive, equitable, and safe for all our participants and volunteers. We welcome and encourage all eligible kids to give the Hoop Shoot a shot.
We are all equal at the free throw line. Racism and intolerance have no place in the Hoop Shoot, on or off the court.
The Hoop Shoot has been unleashing gritty kids for over 50 years. The Elks Hoop Shoot is a free throw program for youth ages 8-13.
