Choose Your King

SAT Aug 23 @ 11AM. All four gospel accounts narrate the story of Jesus’ trial before Pilate. However, Matthew is the only one who emphasizes a crucial insight the others leave out. Matthew does this by saying it without saying it. He allows his choice of words to speak for themselves and shed light on Pilate’s inner struggle in choosing between two kings–Jesus or Caesar. Will Pilate do what is just or just what is selfishly better for him in this present temporary world? Pilate’s inner struggle mirrors our own. We too must choose between Jesus and the many “Caesars” of our day and the worldly riches they offer. This is the third presentation in our King of Hearts Series.
